Michael D. Hood, CLU^®, ChFC^®, AEP^®, CASL^®, RICP^® is the Founder and President of Hood Financial, LLC- a family owned, fee-based, financial services firm providing independent and comprehensive retirement planning and investment advisory services.

Since 1986, Mike has specialized in helping pre-retirees and retirees create, maintain, and enjoy a worry-free retirement by using proven strategies designed to:

• Safely increase and guarantee income
• Protect assets
• Reduce taxes
• Protect against catastrophic health care expenses
• Simplify finances
• Create and leave a meaningful legacy.

“My biggest sense of accomplishment comes from knowing how many clients I’ve been able to help over the years and the difference that’s made in their lives. My dad was a doctor, and as a fiduciary who also has a mandate to act in his client’s best interests, I liken my role as a financial adviser to that of a doctor; following the tenants of the Hippocratic Oath to ‘first, do no harm’.”

Mike’s duties include; new client acquisition, creation of financial plans, allocating clients assets, daily monitoring of client portfolios, retirement income creation and projections, and taking care of his clients with frequent reviews. He is also responsible for all the company’s website content, enjoys writing the articles and client pieces, and is always looking for creative ways of communicating complex financial concepts more simply. He strives to inject a little humor and fun along the way as well and tries to not take himself too seriously.

He does, however, put a high priority on giving clients his best and is fully committed to serving them and their families- for life. He recognizes the tremendous positive impact his work can have on both the client and their family and takes this responsibility very seriously. He has often said that the best work he might do for a client and their family comes after, when they may not be around anymore to see it.

A California native, Mike enjoys an active lifestyle which includes golf, music, movies, church and community service. He and his wife Bev have 3 children, 3 grandchildren (so far), and live in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
